Water
If you bury the used tea bag close to the roots of your flowers or plants, the tea bag will help retain more water in the earth. This ensures a longer and healthier life span for your plants.
Weeds
We love our flowers and pretty plants, but weeds are a real eyesore. But, lucky for us our trusty used tea bag will also help keeping weeds at bay. By burying a used tea bag in the earth, you’ll make it a lot harder for the weeds to grow alongside your healthy plants and flowers.
Seedlings
To give your seedlings a helping hand, bury a used tea bag in the soil with them. All you need is used tea bags, seeds, a plastic planter and water. Germinate the seedlings in the planter like you would do normally, but add the tea bags to the earth. By doing so, you will speed up the process a lot! When the seedlings have germinated, you can easily move them to a larger planter or directly into your garden.
Cats
We love animals, but we don’t want neighbourhood cats using our garden as a bathroom. Sprinkle some coffee grounds or tea over the earth of your garden to prevent cats from peeing or pooping all over it. The smell will repel the cat so they will skip on your garden. Extra tip: this also works to keep your own cats away from the plants inside your home.
Worms
Everyone has these slippery little buggers in their garden, and they’re actually quite helpful! The worms will eat the tea leaves instead of your plants. After they’ve been digested by the worm and gone back into the soil, they’re actually even more nutritious. It’s a win-win!
